Model at the age of 90 – Genia Galberstadt, a holocaust survivor and one of the first jewish ghetto uprising fighters, dreams of being a model at her 90th birthday

Tel Aviv, Israel, 2016-Dec-28 — /EPR Network/ — Genia Galberstadt (Born Gittel Drebsky) celebrated her 90th birthday on December 25th. Her biggest dream for this birthday was being a model, looking “pretty and young” for her birthday.

Ms. Galberstadt is a fighter in her body and soul. She has been part of the first jewish ghetto uprising in Lakhva in 1942 and was shot in her shoulder trying to escape the Nazis. Later on she found her sister and emigrated to Israel to start her own family. In the last years she faught cancer and won the fight while raising a family of 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

To make her birthday wish come true, the entire family came together with a team of stylist, make up artist and professional photographer and produced a fashion photoshooting day at Ms. Galberstadt home in Tel Aviv. The photoshoot featured items from H&M winter collection.

With an inspiration that blended romance and femininity, Gionni Straccia Spring 2017 set the stage for exclusive designs that revealed the richness of a flower – expressing the sweetness and tenderness that flow from it- but highlighting a touch of excitement for the subtle, elegant and tasteful woman.

More than 300 guests were entertained while fabulous models, that included one Miss Universe, showcased the new clothing collection dominated by the use of two Straccia’s favorites: crepes silk and laces. Also, Italian tulle and organza embellished exquisite dresses, most of them with artistic embroidered and hand-painted flowers. Keeping with the trending cape dress, the designer offered a complete collection of stunning short cocktail dresses, pants suits, and evening gowns, that came in white, black, red, pink, and navy colors. Responding to a woman’s dressing needs for the different occasions in her life, Straccia added to the collection an astonishing wedding dress that left attending crowd impressed by the beauty and elegance of this piece.

Known for elegance and made-to-measure inimitable styles among the most important beauty pageants, Straccia is starting a new stage in his successful career; most importantly, with the recent opening of his private atelier in the United States. The Italian-Venezuelan designer is excited with the accomplishment of his very first full collection, “I am really very happy with the outcome. I wanted to express women’s romanticism, femininity and their sweetness,” said Straccia,“and I tried to rescue a technique of hand-painted flowers, to be in tune with the latest fashion trends, but highlighting the indelible Gionni Straccia stamp”.

The WIZO Florida, “Sponsor-a-Child” event included a bazaar with an exclusive diverse group of exhibitors that showcased beautiful pieces in jewelry, decorative items, clothing and many other accessories. As part of its annual gathering, WIZO Florida honored one of its members with a ‘Mother of the Year’ award. This time the privilege went to Colombian native, Margie Szerer, for exemplifying a WIZO woman, dedicated to her family, committed to Israel and a true leader for WIZO Florida.

Taj Pabla – Giving Back to the Community This Holiday Season

You may know Taj Pabla as a famous model and actor, but there is much more to the story than that. Taj Pabla feels extremely blessed to have enjoyed so much success, and he is as committed to giving back to the community as he is to his craft.

That means that gorgeous model and actor Taj Pabla will be working hard this holiday season not only on the screen and on the runway but in the homeless shelters as well. This year Taj Pabla will be celebrating the true spirit of Thanksgiving by helping to serve dinner to the homeless. He will also be celebrating the spirit of the giving by donating toys to children in need. Taj Pabla puts it all in perspective by recounting how blessed he has been. As Taj says “I look around and I have everything. So why should I be selfish? So this year instead of getting I am going to give to the needy. I am serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless and working on putting smiles on kids’ faces at Christmas by donating toys.”

Taj Pabla updated his Facebook status on November 22 to share his holiday plans with his fans and urge others to follow in his footsteps. As Taj said in his status update – “This holiday season I’m going to help the people in need. So this Thanksgiving I’ll be serving the homeless. I am thankful for everything I have. I know sometime I could be selfish, but this year I’m going to do things from the heart and help the less fortunate.”

So just what will Taj Pabla be getting in return for his charitable endeavors this holiday season? Taj will be getting something much more valuable than mere baubles and presents he will be getting the joy that only comes from helping others. He will enjoy the warmth and satisfaction of knowing he has helped put smiles on the faces of children and a full meal in the stomachs of those who might otherwise go hungry this holiday season.

In fact, Taj Pabla is getting so much satisfaction from helping others that he is not about to stop. He has much more to give – and he can’t wait to give back to the community and help those who have blessed his life. Taj is looking forward to launching a new non-profit devoted to helping kids in poor countries get the education they need to enjoy a better and more fulfilling life.

Icon Models in Toronto L’Oreal Fashion Week

Icon Models in Toronto L’Oreal Fashion Week. Native Vancouver designer Carlie Wong impressed the Toronto public with her astonishing collection in the L’Oreal Fashion Week Spring / Summer 2009. The famous Project Runway Canada contestant is described as “a spirited intelligence, a jazzy confidence, and elegant mix of time-slowing classical beauty with a touch of smoky glam” by CTV. Wong’s collection had a distinct vibe that blends in girly glamour with street-chic.

Carlie Wong’s fittings took place at Icon Models in Toronto. In her quest to perfection, Carlie Wong took charge to ensure all her garments blended seamlessly and the models’ walks flawless. On the day of the show, “Carlie’s models charged down the runway with sure-footed independence, sliding hand along hips with relaxed shoulders and eyes that surveyed the lines of watchers around. There were no blank stares, not robotic statuettes, the models were alive,” -CTV

“My Spring / Summer 2009 collection is all about bringing quality construction, attention to detail and luxurious piece to the fashion world,” says designer Carlie Wong. With sharp edges and structured tailoring mix with her palette of colour including black, white grey and silvery blue contributed to achieving the”Glamorous Gangster” look she was striving for. The first look was her “must have” for Spring 09- the jumpsuit; which was a combination of a sharp wide-legged bottom, topped with a men’s waistcoat. The garment was followed by gowns and dresses that created flattering silhouettes through draping silks and plunging yet narrow necklines. The finale dress which is Carlie Wong’s favorite item in her collection is “a dramatic, heavily detailed and beaded black silk gown. It would be a custom dress that would probably sell for $10,000”-The Star. Integrating these elements together helped illustrate Carlie Wong’s design vision- feminine, sophistication and luxurious. The collection also alternated between masculine and feminine tailoring, featuring high-waited trousers paired with a ruffle black halter and tightly draped Grecian style jersey gown.

Wong’s collection was breath taking; she used the most engaging way to present the curves of modern women. Her creativity combined with her sponsor LG mobile stunned the audiences further. Technology inspired chained PDAs, mobiles as pendants and charmed bracelets were a substitute of jewelery and clutches. This was defiantly an exceptional show during this year’s fashion week.
