Grammy Winner Coolio & WWE legend Virgil join Cherie DeVille for the 2020 run for president

Los Angeles, CA, Sep-7-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Sporting a doctorate on her resume, a well-spoken, opinionated candidate has emerged in the 2020 run for president. With Donald Trump having opened the door to public figures attaining the highest office, DeVille has announced her intention to run for President. She’s enlisted Coolio to serve as Vice-President due to his rise from poverty to a gangster’s paradise, and having toured every state in this land, and dozens of countries throughout the world speaking to people along the way – together they know how to fix America.

DeVille announces her presidential bid during a 7+ minute press conference which introduces her team as she recounts her views for change. Coolio is introduced as the presidential hopeful’s running mate and is a strong proponent for universal healthcare, hoping to roll out CoolioCare to the masses.
Chere DeVille speaks eloquently on the broken promises of the current administration and goes so far as to touch on the travel ban, healthcare as well as the disastrous situation that Trump has left the world in with the United State’s withdrawal from the Paris Accord.

International models @Khloe and @MissKennedyS bring the millennial vote along with substantial experience from travelling the world and speaking to the people. Summers, is also a third year med student who has very real concepts on how to improve the healthcare system and will work closely with the Vice President on CoolioCare. Canadian born Khloe Terae hopes to cozy up with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in her role as head of Foreign Relations.

Former WWE legend Virgil is the man behind the woman. The former bodyguard for the Million Dollar Man will reprise his role on a much grander scale. Virgil has been pegged with being the personal bodyguard for the Presidential hopeful, along with being head of security. Having broken breadsticks at Olive Garden with Donald Trump, Virgil has keen insight in the current administration, and can help transition when Cherie DeVille captures the White House.

Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) Produces Exquisite Debut EP for New Australian Indie Duo, Secret Solis, with Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams) on the Drums

Adelaide, Australia, 2017-May-18 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — Between sold out tours of Australia and Canada in 2016, Jeff Martin (The Tea Party) invited new Australian indie folk / rock duo Secret Solis to record their debut EP, “Deep Down” at River House Studios near Byron Bay. The sessions produced a five track album of indie folk / rock anthems, the tracks resonating with both Led Zeppelin’s driving acoustic rock and the ethereal ballads of Pink Floyd. Jeff’s eastern palette adds an eclectic flavour to the EP that is reminiscent of his early albums with The Tea Party, as in Splendor Solis and Edges of Twilight. Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams) joins the line up on drums providing a John Bonham / Ginger Baker style foundation for the albums songs.

When asked to describe the project Martin says “I have been waiting for years to produce a sound like this at River House Studios. Of all the production work I have done over the last 25 years, including my work with The Tea Party, Secret Solis’ EP “Deep Down” is in the top five of work that I am most proud of.”

Secret Solis was formed in 2012 when established Cairns-based singer/songwriter, Kian Eder met Cally Pysden, a pianist and singer/songwriter from Adelaide. Before meeting Cally, Kian’s music was heavily influenced by Pink Floyd, The Tea Party, A Perfect Circle, and acoustic rock cross-over artists like Ben Harper. Collaborating with Cally added a new dimension to Kian’s vision, elevating the music to new heights with her soaring ethereal vocals the likes of Enya, Dido, Sia and Amy-Lee. Enter Jeff Martin as producer and musician using production techniques straight out of Jimmy Page’s playbook, and Terepai Richmond (The Whitlams) on drums and you have a special magic happening in the mix.

Martin agreed to produce the band after hearing only a small section of their demo, “Speechless Soul” and the rest is history. Jeff plays all the heavy guitars and solos, hurdy gurdy and synths including his boutique theremin. He also lends his voice to the band’s debut single, “Sunshine”. The second single, “Are You Listening?” features Jeff playing an old school rock solo unlike many have ever heard.

Both singles are now available at secretsolis.bandcamp.com

When asked what the songs are about Kian says “The songs are based on our personal experiences but ultimately we are aiming to create relatable themes that resonate with everyone. We want this music to heal, uplift and empower people to face and overcome the many challenges of life as our favourite music has done for us.”

The Debut EP “Deep Down” will be released via bandcamp on the 16th of June, 2017.

Secret Solis are currently seeking expressions of interest from record labels, managers and booking agents to take the project to the next level.

British pop act OMYO to use Blingby’s ad technology to turn its music videos into unique shopping experiences

NEW YORK, 2017-Mar-21 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — Blingby has today announced a cutting-edge partnership with emerging British pop act OMYO, which sees its patented advertising technology turn the band’s music videos, concerts and more into unique shopping experiences for consumers around the world.

As part of the deal, the innovative advertising and marketing omnichannel platform will curate a series of unique videos that lets viewers shop the stars’ styles as they see them with its ‘bbstream technology’ – a portable scrolling selection of fashion, products and destinations as seen in the videos. Viewers can watch and purchase the styles or book a flight or hotel inspired by the video with the click or tap of a button.

Oxfordshire-born urban pop act OMYO found fame last year when they provided the soundtrack to New Look’s Autumn/Winter fashion campaign with critically acclaimed single ‘Lady’. They have since gone on to become BBC Introducing favourites and receive plays from the likes of BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s Charlie Sloth.

OMYO’s close links to fashion retailers – ranging from New Look to Ellesse – made the band a natural fit for Blingby’s advertising capabilities. As fans watch their music videos, live performances and more, they can simultaneously watch and shop interactively through the bbstream.

At a recent headline show in New York, OMYO also became the first band to use Blingby’s Live technology – the world’s first real-time consumer shopping experience designed for concerts, fashion shows and more.

OMYO and Blingby will also be collaborating on the duo’s next music video for their upcoming single, ‘Days With You’. The video will be bbTagged by Blingby and will feature items of clothing from fashion retailer River Island.

Founder and CEO of Blingby, Marcia Favale, commented on the partnership: “OMYO is right there fusing the boundaries of music and fashion. They have worked with some absolutely aspirational fashion brands – ASOS, Adidas, Ellesse, Blood Brother and more. They know exactly what their fans want to wear and OMYO is inspiring new trends. Through Blingby, OMYO can promote labels whilst maintaining creative integrity. Blingby is the platform designed to bridge that gap and make a connection between music fans and what the stars are wearing.”

OMYO added: “We are always looking for brand new ways of engaging with our fans and followers and Blingby adds a whole new dimension to our videos. Incorporating the Blingby videos into our Facebook page and posts is especially helpful as it is so difficult to stand out on social media these days, but having a video that doubles as an interactive browsing experience provides exactly that.”

Norwegian rock legend Gudny Aspaas to launch her new album in Oslo on April 5 at the Rockefeller Music Hall

OSLO, Norway, 07-Jan-2017 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — Tickets for the concert are now on sale, and can be ordered through www.gudnyaspaas.com which also features samples from “No Stranger”. The concert will also feature tracks from Gudny’s back catalog.

“The concert and album are the culmination of several months of work – and I’m thrilled with how “No Stranger” has turned out,” said Gudny. “I was lucky to work with some incredibly talented musicians and a wonderful team, and the result is, I think, the best work I’ve ever produced. I’m really looking forward to being back on stage, and I can’t wait for people to hear the new album in April.”

“No Stranger” is representative of the eclecticism of Gudny’s extensive career in music, with all of her – and her musicians’ – many talents represented in tracks such as the vocally complex “Galactic Child” (which allows her to show off her distinctive voice) through the eloquent piano/vocal piece “Hello Again” to the classic rock ‘n’ roll of “You Can Run”. From haunting simplicity to wall of sound, “No Stranger” fully demonstrates the breadth and depth of Gudny’s musical genius and her pioneering versatility as a composer and performer.

Gudny represented Norway four times in the Eurovision Song Contest, and fronted iconic progressive rock group Ruphus in the 1970s, returning for a reunion in the 1990s and again in 2010 – also at the Rockefeller Music Hall. Ruphus’s “New Born Day” was voted as one of the top 50 best Norwegian albums ever made. She has also released numerous solo singles and albums.

Originally from Meråker but now living in Oslo, Gudny comes from a musical family in which almost every member could play an instrument. Singing shyly for her family from the age of four, she and three friends formed “The Singing Goats” at the age of 12, supporting their vocals with guitars and tambourine. Having won a music competition, she released her first single in 1969.

Gudny is also a supremely talented creative artist, working mainly in silver jewellery. She graduated from the Statens Kunst og Håndverksskole (State Academy of Craft and Art Industry) and now has her “Silverland” gallery/workshop in the centre of Oslo near the Slottsparken.

LondonTown.com: London landscapes celebrated in new exhibition

South London parks are the subject of new photographic exhibition at the Horniman Museum.

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR ENTERTAINMNT NEWS/ — A new photographic exhibition celebrating London’s lesser-known landscapes open this month at one of London’s friendliest museums. South London Landscapes is now open at the Horniman Museum And Gallery this week and runs throughout the summer, featuring photographs of the Horniman itself as well as other picturesque public spaces in and around south London. The Horniman is one of London’s liveliest small museums, boasting excellent natural history and music galleries, a small aquarium and extensive landscaped grounds. For more information, and to see the latest deals on London hotels, see LondonTown.com.

South London Landscapes features photographs taken by London-based landscape photographer Max A Rush. The photographs, which include pictures of the Horniman Gardens, are taken in unusual and beautiful weather and capture how the passage of the seasons and the forces of the weather transform the appearance and character of the local landscape. Areas featured in South London Landscapes include Brockwell Park, Crystal Palace Park, Dulwich Park, Dulwich Wood, Ruskin Park and the Horniman Gardens.

Max Rush says: ‘These are a few of my favourite locations around south London. I’ve continually returned to them over the years, watching the seasons pass and the elements batter, freeze and occasionally warm their well-worn faces. I’ve witnessed moments of transcendental beauty in familiar places and endeavoured to capture them as truthfully as I can. So many people fight their way out of the city every week for the sake of nature, but perhaps what they’re looking for was here all along.’ For more information on this and other exhibitions and events taking place at the Horniman this summer, see LondonTown.com.

LondonTown.com: Groundbreaking London exhibition looks at post-war Black British artists

Guildhall Art Gallery explores the work of little-known but pivotal Afro-Caribbean artists

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — A groundbreaking new exhibition at the Guildhall Art Gallery in the City of London will look at the little-known and rarely exhibited history of 20th-century Black British art. No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action 1960-1990 runs from 10 July 2015 to 24 January 2016, and will explore the history of art produced by Britain’s Afro-Caribbean citizens, reflecting their experiences in the country after the major emigrations that occurred following the end of the Empire at the conclusion of the Second World War. For more information on this and other exhibitions in London this summer, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find information on London events and cheap London hotels.

At the heart of the exhibition will be a recreation of the Bogle-L’Ouverture Walter Rodney bookshop, created by renowned artist and curator Dr Michael McMillan (West Indian Front Room) and sound and visual specialists, Dubmorphology. Visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a stunning multi-sensory, multi-visual experience including works of art, sculpture, photographs, paintings, letters and other artefacts from more than 25 prominent Black artists during this period including Eddie Chambers, Sonia Boyce, Denzil Forrester and Chila Kumari Burman.

Influenced by the emergence of newly independent African and Caribbean states, global liberation struggles, the fight against unfair discrimination and an insistence on dignified citizenship within Britain, these artists found expression by way of ‘creation for liberation’. The exhibition will explore these struggles and celebrate their contribution through four themes: ‘Elbow Room’, ‘Broad Shoulders’, ‘Clenched Fists’ and ‘Open Arms’.

Throughout its tenure, No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action 1960-1990 will also play host to a series of scheduled events enriching the visitor experience through a diverse range of educational talks, workshops and gallery tours. Raven Row is a non-profit contemporary art exhibition centre in Spitalfields that is housed within two eighteenth-century merchants’ houses integrated with new galleries and its next exhibition, Larry Johnson: On Location runs from 11 June to 9 August 2015. It is directed and funded by Alex Sainsbury of the Sainsbury family, whose family have funded many great art projects in London, such as the Sainsbury Wing of the National Gallery. Raven Row is a very different enterprise, offering thoughtful shows on lesser-known artists and allowing visitors to explore the fascinating quarter of Spitalfields. The area is filled with fashionable boutiques, great shops and cool bars and restaurants. To explore its attractions, see LondonTown.com, where you can also find the latest room rates for hotels in London.

On Location brings together a selection of works by Larry Johnson from the early 1990s to the present. The show’s uncontested star is Los Angeles, the city in which Johnson has lived and worked all his life. For over thirty years, LA’s physical and imaginary appearance has served as the set for the artist’s photo-based investigations of the glamour industry, replete with fading stars and premature deaths. Johnson’s work bears the marks of a generation of artists sampling readymade images and texts to create seductively laconic pictures. Yet the colourful sheen of Johnson’s photo-based works is also a foil for sexual, political and semantic tension. The artist’s pictures are encryptions of a Hollywood demi-monde, referring to the cultures from which his work emerges queer, political, filmic and theoretical.

The exhibition is curated by Los Angeles-based writer Bruce Hainley, and by Antony Hudek, Curator and Deputy Director of Raven Row. Commie Pinko Guy, a publication edited by Hainley with new essays by Morgan Fisher, Lisa Lapinski, Hainley, Hudek and Wayne Koestenbaum, as well as reprints of classic underground queer writing, will accompany the exhibition. For more information on this and other exhibitions in London’s cutting-edge contemporary art scene, see LondonTown.com.

LondonTown.com: Art film screenings at London’s best gallery this summer

Tate Modern screens new and classic avant-garde and artists’ films this summer.

LONDON, June 08, 2015 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — The Tate Modern has announced its summer season of cinema screening and film premieres, which will take place in the gallery between May and July 2015. The Tate Modern is one of the world’s leading contemporary art galleries, and its extensive programme of events includes a summer film season that introduces new art film as well as rarely-seen work by inspiring and maverick filmmakers. The screenings cost £5. The gallery is located on the South Bank close to Blackfriars, London Bridge and Waterloo rail stations. For more information on things to do in the area, and to see the latest rates for cheap hotels in London, see LondonTown.com.

Films programmed this summer at the Tate include Agnes Martin’s Gabriel on 5 June, which takes place in conjunction with Tate Modern’s retrospective of Agnes Martin. This evening presents the artist’s only completed and rarely screened film. It follows the wanderings of a ten year old boy in rural New Mexico, where Martin lived and worked, in a contemplative study of landscape and nature. On 12 June, Sharon Lockhart will present her newest body of films and photographs in a unique opportunity to see this ambitious work in progress, followed by a conversation with Tate’s senior curators Catherine Wood and Andrea Lissoni. Created in collaboration with a group of 15 young women in Poland, the project empowers the authority of the girls’ voices and their perspectives on the world. Over the weekend from 19-21 June, Parviz Kimiavi will feature. Spanning four screenings over three days, this will be the UK’s first major survey of maverick filmmaker Parviz Kimiavi, a pioneer of alternative cinema in 1970’s Iran. Kimiavi created surreal and hallucinatory films, using non-professional actors and harsh desert landscapes.

On 26 June, A Night at the Pictures: An evening for Larry Johnson will honour the legacy of artist Larry Johnson. Curator Bruce Hainley and writer Wayne Koestenbaum will discuss his work, followed by a specially selected cult film. On 8 July, Mathieu Kleyebe Abonnenc’s new film will be screened. This addresses political issues alongside scientific and anthropological histories. Drawing on a personal photographic archive, the film presents a young fictional researcher who leads a group between the IFAN Museum in Dakar and the Musée de l’Homme in Paris. The screening will be introduced by a live concert by the electronic music act PAL. Finally, over three days from 10-12 June, The Film Will Always Be You: South African Artists on Screen will explore the film work of key artists in South Africa. It begins with a rare showing of William Kentridge and Angus Gibson’s Freedom Square and Back of the Moon 1986 (part of the Johannesburg Free Filmmakers’ Co-Operative) and ends with the UK premiere of Robin Rhode’s Recycled Matter 2015. For more information on this summer of screenings, see LondonTown.com.

LondonTown.com: New London museum located in notorious hospital

Bethlam Royal Hospital hosts new permanent Museum Of The Mind.

LONDON, March 23, 2015 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — One of the most notorious psychiatric hospitals in history – Bethlam Royal Hospital, which gave its name to the word ‘bedlam’ – will be opening a pioneering gallery and museum on its premises this month. The new displays will be filled with the personal stories – both historic and contemporary – of those who have experienced mental health difficulties and will explore the long, controversial and often misunderstood history of Bethlem, founded 1247 in central London. Bethlem Gallery and Museum of the Mind opens on 19 February 2015. The Bethlam Royal Hospital has occupied various sites, including the building now used by the Imperial War Museum in Waterloo, and is now located in Beckenham, a short journey by train from the centre of London. To see other attractions in the area and learn how to get to Beckenham, as well as finding up-to-date information on hotels in London, see LondonTown.com.

The Bethlem Gallery and Museum of the Mind will occupy the hospital’s original 1930s administration building and celebrate the lives and achievements of those living with mental ill-health. Themed gallery spaces will explore the reasons why people arrive at Bethlem, aiming to inspire discussion, debate and reflection on mental health issues which are as relevant today as they were in the past. The museum will house significant art and historical artefacts, almost all of which will be on display for the first time, as well as works by current artists and hospital service users.

Among the highlights are paintings and drawings by Richard Dadd, Louis Wain and Jonathan Martin, each of whom was a former Bethlem or Maudsley Hospital patient; and the oldest objects in the collection, the imposing statues, ‘Raving and Melancholy Madness’ by Caius Gabriel Cibber (c1676) which originally stood above the gates of the 17th century ‘Bedlam’ at Moorfields. They will now take their place either side of the art deco staircase directly ahead of visitors entering the new museum. Notable paintings from the internationally renowned art collection include ‘The Maze’ by William Kurelek (1953), ‘Sketch of an idea for Crazy Jane’ by Richard Dadd (1855), ‘Numb’ by Lisa Biles (2009) and ‘Phrenology’ by Louis Wain (1911). Each of these will be on permanent display.

The exhibition will include striking images by Victorian photographer Henry Hering of Bethlem patients taken before and after treatment in order to detect their mental health conditions through facial expressions and features. The collection will also feature a key to the gates of the 18th century hospital, 19th century manacles, chains, straitjackets and other physical restraint devices, comments and letters from visitors from the 18th century up until today and 19th century admission and discharge registers.

Guitarists Improve Their Skills Up To 72% Faster With Invention That Revolutionizes The Way People Learn Guitar

Chicago, IL, March 03, 2015 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — Tom Hess Music Corporation releases The Guitar Playing Accelerator – a new invention that enables guitarists and guitar students to track the exact improvements gained from their guitar practice, evaluate the effectiveness of their guitar learning efforts and increase their musical progress by up to 72%.

Online guitar teacher and inventor of the Guitar Playing Accelerator – Tom Hess, says: “Tracking one’s guitar progress is the flossing of the guitar playing world. Everyone knows they need to do it, but only the guitarists making the most rapid progress actually do it. For years I’ve been telling my guitar students to track their progress, and now I finally have created the tool that makes this process super simple, transparent and highly effective”.

With the overabundance of online guitar lessons, resources and information about guitar playing, the only way to know what works and what doesn’t is to have hard proof of one’s progress, or lack of it. Being able to see one’s improvement makes it possible to quickly make changes in what one does to learn and practice guitar – without wasting time on practicing using guesswork and trial and error.

Hess adds: “What makes tracking musical progress so difficult for most people is the fact that one needs to track literally everything…hundreds of specific elements of their guitar playing and musical skills. It’s an extremely time-consuming process, even if one knows how to do it and is committed to doing it regularly.

So for the last 6 and ½ years, my team and I have worked to invent a tool that will make this process incredibly easy, fast and effective, enabling guitarists to easily track it all, organize it all, analyze it all and combine it all, to quickly see both the big picture of their overall musical progress AND the little details that must be refined to make it possible for bigger progress to occur. This goes far beyond merely tracking one’s metronome speed and includes literally single piece of one’s musical skills and knowledge. It’s by far the biggest thing we’ve ever done…”

Free Civil War Exhibit, On the Way to War, Antaramian Gallery through March 1, 2015

Kenosha, WI, January 02, 2015 — /EPR ENTERTAINMENT NEWS/ — The Civil War Museum opened a new temporary exhibit, On the War to War, on display in the Antaramian Gallery through March 1, 2015.

Through the watercolor paintings of Civil War soldier John Gaddis, explore the universal experiences of soldiers on their way to war. Sense the excitement, boredom, anxiety, bonding and realization of what war and combat is really about.

The exhibit includes fourteen paintings on loan from the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. The primitive style watercolors were painted by John Gaddis, a soldier in the Civil War 12th Wisconsin Regiment, while he was in the field. Though they depict one soldier’s first-person view, the themes are universal to many soldiers across all wars and times.

Visitors can also climb inside a Sibley Tent like the kind soldiers slept in while training to become soldiers at Camp Randall. Plus, see a full-size black bear representing the 12th Wisconsin’s mascot, Bruin.

On the Way to War is free and open to the public. Nominal admission is required for the Civil War Museum’s main exhibit, The Fiery Trial, and 360-degree movie, Seeing the Elephant.

The Civil War Museum in Kenosha is a war museum like no other. It focuses on the Civil War from the perspective of the people in the six states of the upper Midwest: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Through the use of personal stories and narratives, the Museum also explores how the Civil War impacted the people on the Western home front before, during, and after the war by connecting the prewar causes to the postwar effects. The other two locations, the Kenosha Public Museum and the Dinosaur Discovery Museum are just a quick trolley car ride (adults, $1; kids ages 5-12, $0.50.) away. Free parking is available in the scenic lot on the lake shore. All three locations truly are a MUST SEE for everyone! This perfect day trip for the whole family is only 25 minutes from Milwaukee and 55 minutes from Chicago. Kenosha Public Museums offer a wide variety of classes and workshops for all ages.
