Boots Has Launched Its Christmas TV Advert Featuring The Sugababes Hit Single Girls

Boots’ Christmas TV advert from 2007 won an industry Gold Award in The Campaign Magazine Big Awards. The company has now launched this year’s seasonal advert, and it features the Sugababes’ hit single ‘Girls’.

In 2007 the Boots TV advert gave real insight into the lengthy preparations women make when getting ready for that all-important Christmas party. The music that accompanied it was ’Here Come the Girls’ by Ernie K Doe, originally a hit in the 1970s.

This year, Boots‘ new Christmas advert celebrates the art of choosing great gifts for your colleagues this season. The advert shows Boots knows that women want to get it right, finding the perfect present at a price they can afford.

Boots has teamed up with the Sugababes, the UK’s biggest girl band, for this year’s campaign. The advert features the trio’s recent single ’Girls’, which includes a sample of ’Here Come the Girls’ by Ernie K Doe. The Sugababes feel-good single has been selling fast in selected Boots stores across the nation, and Bootshas matched the 10p donation to the White Ribbon Alliance for every copy it has rung through its tills.

The theme of the song reflects the feminine traits highlighted in the advert. Set in an office, viewers will see women making lists, lovingly wrapping presents, and even offering themselves up as gifts in a bid to ensure they give the perfect ‘Secret Santa’ present.

Throughout the commercial viewers are given hints of items that would make ideal Christmas gifts for friends, family and colleagues this year. From beauty products for a bushy-browed boss who receives the ‘No7 Eye and Brow Kit‘ to a colleague who has a soft spot for cuddly toys who receives the ‘In the Night Garden Soft Friends Gift Pack’, the message is there is something for everyone. With a huge range of Christmas gifts for 2008 under £5 and many presents part of a three for two mix ‘n’ match offer at Boots this season, ‘Secret Santa’ has never been so easy.

The office scene was shot over a period of five days in a disused office block. There were 400 women on the site and only 50 men, but everyone had a go at wrapping their own ‘Secret Santa’ present. In keeping with the theme of their advert, this year more than 2800 staff at Boots UK’s Nottingham and Feltham support offices will be attempting to break the world record for the largest number of people involved in a ‘Secret Santa’ on one day.

Even if Omega named their new watch after James Bond and was willing to pay a bundle for the product placement, maybe the producers should respect the awareness shown by their star of the true legacy and history of their character. Throughout his time as 007, Sean Connery was equipped with the Rolex Submariner, which has just celebrated its 50th anniversary this year, and Ian Fleming clearly chose Rolex as the watch worn by his creation. “Daniel Craig likes to tell a story about his watch. Emirates Has Announced The Successful Premiere Of Their Short Film The Exposure Of Tom King And Is Now Available To View Online

Emirates, the Dubai-based international airline, has announced that its innovative short movie ”The Exposure of Tom King”, has been completed and is now ready to premiere online.

Created to promote the launch of the new Emirates non-stop flight between Los Angeles and Dubai, “The Exposure of Tom King” was filmed without any actors or actresses in the movie at all. Emirates then asked for aspiring actors and actresses around the world to audition for roles in the movie via their own webcams, and added selected actors and actresses to the pre-filmed movie using the latest bluescreen technology.

Benton Roman, the film’s Director, commented, “The main challenge in shooting a film with no one in it was to make the shots as interesting as possible, whilst framing them from the waist up so that people could easily audition via their webcam.”

Avy Kaufman, the top Hollywood casting director enlisted by Emirates to find the best people for the roles in the movie, sifted through all the auditions that were submitted and picked the finest performances which have now been composited onto the previously-shot movie. Kaufman has previously worked on major Hollywood blockbusters including the The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), Brokeback Mountain (2005), Capote (2005), Garden State (2004), Dogville (2003) and The Sixth Sense (1999).

The new five minute dramatic short created by Emirates tells the story of a Hollywood heartthrob named Tom King. Two opportunists discover he has a secret and then try to blackmail him for two million dollars. Horrified at the risk of exposure, Tom King will stop at nothing to prevent his secret from being revealed.

Emirates received over 200 auditions from budding actors and actresses from around the world. The lucky virtual cast were informed of their success on October 26th. The premiere of the movie was held on November 7th, and has been made available online, along with footage from the auditions.

Emirates Airline Has Announced That It Is Looking Online To Cast People To Star In A Short Movie Entitled The Exposure Of Tom King

To celebrate the launch of their new route direct between Dubai and the home of movies and cinema, Los Angeles, Emirates Airline is giving people the opportunity to star in an L.A. movie.

The short movie, which is called ‘The Exposure of Tom King’, has already been shot in L.A., but with absolutely no people in it whatsoever. The next step in this unconventional filming process involves Emirates quest to find the correct cast to star in the film.

They are inviting people from all around the world to audition for a role online, via their webcam, at the new The Exposure of Tom King website. The site uses bluescreen technology to enable audition footage to be placed within scenes of the movie making the new film the first movie of its kind.

Emirates Airline have enlisted the help of top Hollywood casting director Avy Kaufman, who will be in charge of the casting to ensure the best people are found for each of the main roles. Avy Kaufman is highly regarded within the film industry, having been involved in the casting industry for over 20 years, and with over a hundred film credits to her name, including the Sixth Sense, The Bourne Ultimatum, the Thomas Crown Affair and Brokeback Mountain.

Visitors to the website can create their own movie trailers, watch all the auditions for the movie so far or choose to audition for a role. The final Emirates film will have a cast from all around the world who have never met, but will be sharing scenes together and acting via their webcams.

Auditions will be taking place until the 26th of October with the premiere taking place shortly afterward on the 7th November 2008.

New Album Features Boots Randolph In One Of His Last Sessions, Stuart Duncan, Richard Smith And The Lori Mechem Trio Backing Vocalist Holly Yarbrough In Her Solo Debut.

Yarbrough is the daughter of sixties folk singing tenor Glenn Yarbrough who rose to fame with the Limeliters and continued to success as a solo artist on RCA records.

Mister Rogers Swings includes sixteen selections from the Fred Rogers Songbook with a grown-up jazz sound. Yarbrough’s fresh, sly takes on Rogers classics like “You’ve Got to Do It” and “I Like to Be Told” are aimed squarely at adult audiences.

Yarbrough produced the album on her own indie label, Vintage Discs. “We did it on a wing, a prayer, and a home equity line of credit” she says.

“It’s been a real labor of love for us all. We wanted more people to really get the artistry of Fred Rogers’ songwriting. When you hear these songs out of their usual context, I think they fit right up there in the Great American Songbook.”

Though the savvy interpretation might make Mister Rogers raise an eyebrow, the heart of the record stays true to his kind nature. Yarbrough finished the record while working for Alive Hospice, where she is still employed.

“I’m not a glamorous, spotlight oriented person, and I never expected I’d be making my own album. But I had this talent I wasn’t using…and after Mister Rogers died, his words kept coming back to me. He said: “…each one of us has something that no one else has or will ever have – something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing that expression.”

About the Artist
Holly Yarbrough was born in Santa Monica, California. Her father, Glenn Yarbrough is a well-known recording artist with over seventy albums in his discography. Her Grandfather was a square dance caller in the Black Hills of South Dakota, and her Grandmother sang with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra.

Holly has studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy, Bard College and the Nashville Jazz Workshop. After attending at her Grandfather’s bedside while he was in hospice care, she began volunteering for hospice through Compassion in Action.

Since 2006, she has worked for Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. She is currently pursuing certification as a therapeutic musician through the Music for Healing and Transition program.

Media Mayhem Corporation together with Nassiri Music is spreading the message of love and peace thru Love Sees No Color Campaign

Media Mayhem Corporation (MMC) in conjunction with Nassiri Music announces their partnership for a campaign that is set to cross cultural thresholds and help spread the message of peace and love around the world starting August 11th and running through October 1st.

The project Love Sees No Color, is the brainchild of renowned music artist, philanthropist, and peace activist Nassiri, who is releasing the album “Love Sees No Color – World Peace Collection” on September 16th.

The record was recorded during Nassiri’s world tour that saw the artist performing in over 18 countries, sung by thousands of children in fifteen different languages, and features Eleven other tracks on the CD that were recorded in the artist’s home town of Las Vegas, Nevada.

To coincide with the release, MMC’s Vice President of Business Development Jamie Ashe developed a vision along with MMC Vice President Eric Willis to create a cutting edge campaign that finds unprecedented moves being put into motion including over 200 million advertising impressions over 300 exclusive Media Mayhem properties while spreading over 10 million over the air (OTA) transfers via mobile phones across multiple telecom networks.

“This was a concept I was discussing with Eric Willis a few weeks ago when the opportunity rose for Media Mayhem to work with Nassiri,” says Jamie Ashe. “We got to thinking about the timing of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing; as well as a number of other pressing events around the world and we wanted to be part of something positive out there and this is Media Mayhem’s way of doing our part to raise awareness that love is blind and sees no color,” says Willis.

“It’s a really brilliant concept and something that will be moving and powerful,” says Ashe.

The campaign will include the usage of downloads, ringtones, quizzes, surveys, and music feeds which will be initiated as more users light up the network throughout the day.

Peace Records who represents the Nassiri Music Label, has gone a step further and announced that 100% of all proceeds from the sale of his world peace collection will go to charity.

“I believe that it is important to reach out to the people in need and that is why I have decided to donate not just a portion, but ALL of THE PROCEEDS to charity,” says Nassiri.

The CD/bonus DVD of Love Sees No Color will be available for purchase at retailers nationwide and digitally on September 16th.

Cliff deMarks announces the release of Golden, his smooth Latin jazz CD

Cliff deMarks, 1/2 of Atlanta’s Showtyme Jazz Duo, announced the release of his latest CD, Golden,  this past week during the Aspen Art Show in Aspen, Colorado.

With this release, he ventures into the Latin side of the smooth jazz genre.

When he was asked to describe the new CD, he said “Latin purists might not find it to their liking, but for lovers of smooth, it’ll be just spicy enough.”

Cliff is a very prolific jazz artist. Along with his wife Sei, he has released over 40 CD’s under their indie label, deMarks Music. He laughingly describes himself as a “cottage industry music label.”

He told us he felt some urgency to get Golden released cause he’d been working on it for over a year and needed to let it go, so that he could now concentrate on his new smooth jazz CD, “Do You Play?” He said he will be finishing up Do You Play? as soon as he can free up some time to get into the studio.

According to Cliff, Golden has been well-received and is selling well. He said he anticipates that this CD will fill a niche for the boutiques, gift shops and hospital gift shops that resell his music. He said it appeals to the same fans who love his smooth jazz.
