Grammy Winner Coolio & WWE legend Virgil join Cherie DeVille for the 2020 run for president

Los Angeles, CA, Sep-7-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Sporting a doctorate on her resume, a well-spoken, opinionated candidate has emerged in the 2020 run for president. With Donald Trump having opened the door to public figures attaining the highest office, DeVille has announced her intention to run for President. She’s enlisted Coolio to serve as Vice-President due to his rise from poverty to a gangster’s paradise, and having toured every state in this land, and dozens of countries throughout the world speaking to people along the way – together they know how to fix America.

DeVille announces her presidential bid during a 7+ minute press conference which introduces her team as she recounts her views for change. Coolio is introduced as the presidential hopeful’s running mate and is a strong proponent for universal healthcare, hoping to roll out CoolioCare to the masses.
Chere DeVille speaks eloquently on the broken promises of the current administration and goes so far as to touch on the travel ban, healthcare as well as the disastrous situation that Trump has left the world in with the United State’s withdrawal from the Paris Accord.

International models @Khloe and @MissKennedyS bring the millennial vote along with substantial experience from travelling the world and speaking to the people. Summers, is also a third year med student who has very real concepts on how to improve the healthcare system and will work closely with the Vice President on CoolioCare. Canadian born Khloe Terae hopes to cozy up with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in her role as head of Foreign Relations.

Former WWE legend Virgil is the man behind the woman. The former bodyguard for the Million Dollar Man will reprise his role on a much grander scale. Virgil has been pegged with being the personal bodyguard for the Presidential hopeful, along with being head of security. Having broken breadsticks at Olive Garden with Donald Trump, Virgil has keen insight in the current administration, and can help transition when Cherie DeVille captures the White House.

Rufus Norris opens his debut season at the National with ‘Everyman’ starring Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) running from 22nd April 2015 in the Olivier Theatre, anticipated as one of the best London events for spring.

And ‘People, Places and Things’, a new play by Duncan Macmillan presented in a co-production with Headlong, directed by Jeremy Herrin, opening in the Dorfman Theatre in August.

Sally Cookson’s five star production of Charlotte Brontë’s masterpiece Jane Eyre, originally played at the Bristol Old Vic, comes to the National’s Lyttelton Theatre in September 2015, Anne-Marie Duff leads the cast in ‘Husbands and Sons’ beginning in October, and Polly Findlay directs Shakespeare’s comedy ‘As You Like It’ in the play’s first main stage production at the NT since 1980 in the Olivier Theatre in November. In the same month Rufus Norris directs ‘wonder.land’, a new musical by Damon Albarn and Moira Buffini inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland.

Ralph Fiennes, Timothy Spall and Rob Brydon will all take to the stage of The Old Vic for Matthew Warchus’ first season as Artistic Director of the famous London venue. The programme includes Ibsen’s ‘The Master Builder’ in a new adaptation by David Hare starring Ralph Fiennes due in 2016, and the world premiere of a new musical, ‘Groundhog Day’ reuniting the creative team of ‘Matilda the Musical’ with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.

Aussie Mobster, Aurea Morrisey, Holds Hollywood Hostage

Australian born actress, Aurea Morrisey, has just finished shooting indie feature film “So You Want To Be A Gangster?” in Los Angeles. The film by Mexican born Director, Alex Kahuam, has high hopes after his short film version was accepted into Cannes Film Festival this year.

Aurea plays volatile Christina, riding her sexuality to pursue a capricious agenda involving a deadly cocktail of guns, drugs, and ambition. When asked of her experience playing Christina, Aurea laughed, “Within the first 10 minutes of arriving on set, I had to pash the lead red-headed Mexican character, pull a gun on someone, and then got shot a gruesome death’.

With more than 15 years in the industry, Aurea’s acting skills were polished at the New York Film Academy in 2013. This lead to television roles in MSNBC’s “Heist”, VH1’s “Candidly Nicole”, and several feature films including Turkish film “Yarmani” with Paris Hilton and “Second Coming of Christ” with Tom Sizemore and Sally Kirkland.

Ms. Morrisey has also commenced work playing a talent agent on a comedic television pilot and web-series, by Steven A. Davis, titled “Two19 Game Night” which follows the lives of Five creative (and some not-so-creative) friends as they come together to relive their bizarre and often horrific dates that have occurred during the week.

Aurea plans a short break between Hollywood hold up’s when she plans to return to Australia to spend time surfing with the dolphins. She’s looking forward to becoming a Godmother to her best friend’s first born child and some springtime fun with family and friends in September.

Michigan-Based Indie Film Tops $10,000 Kickstarter Goal in Under Two Days

Star Trek – Horizon, a feature-length independent film currently in production in southeast Michigan, launched their immensely successful Kickstarter campaign over Easter weekend, in an effort to raise funds necessary for completion of their film. In just 32 hours, the campaign earned an impressive $10,000 toward making the ambitious project a reality. The Kickstarter campaign runs through May 19, while the completed film is expected to premiere by the end of 2014.

Starring Paul Lang (Captain Harrison Hawke), Marc Bowers (Commander Jackson Gates),Ryan Webber (Commander Francis Brookes), and Callie Bussell (Lieutenant T’mar), Horizonfollows Captain Harrison Hawke and the crew of the Earth vessel NX-04 Discovery. In 2160, the Coalition of Planets, a young alliance of worlds led by Earth, is at war with the Romulan Empire. Desperate for a chance to gain the upper hand in the war, the Coalition forms an alliance with T’mar, a Romulan defector, in the hope that she can provide valuable intelligence on her former masters.

From the film’s Kickstarter page: “It is our goal to create a film that is worthy of the franchise and can close out the story threads left hanging after the untimely cancellation of Enterprise (the final Trek TV series) in 2005. However, if you have not seen any of the previous franchise films or TV series, this close tie to Enterprise is not cause to worry. While this film will close out story threads that began in that series, it will also certainly tell an original story and be able to stand alone as a science fiction feature film.”

Filmmaker Tommy Kraft, the prodigious 22-year-old Albion College graduate behind Horizon, hails from Spring Arbor, a small town just southwest of Jackson, Michigan. He founded Project [N] ReSource, a production company behind numerous short films, in 2005. Kraft cut his filmmaking teeth on those short films, he says, and they prepared him for the challenges of making his first independent feature. With Horizon, he has taken on a subject grand in its scope and execution, yet extremely close to his heart. Of the project, Kraft says he intends “only to use my skills to show my love for a franchise that has been an endless source of inspiration for me, not only professionally but personally as well.”

About Project [N] ReSource:
Project [N] ReSource was co-founded in late December of 2005 by Tommy Kraft. Currently based in Jackson, Michigan, the company focuses on the production of live action films and some machinima.

(STAR TREK and all related marks, logos, and characters are owned by CBS Studios Inc. “Star Trek – Horizon”, the website, the promotion thereof and/or any exhibition of material created by ProjectNReSource Films, Tommy Kraft, or the “Star Trek – Horizon” team are not endorsed or sponsored by or affiliated with CBS/Paramount Pictures or the STAR TREK franchise.)

Taj Pabla – Giving Back to the Community This Holiday Season

You may know Taj Pabla as a famous model and actor, but there is much more to the story than that. Taj Pabla feels extremely blessed to have enjoyed so much success, and he is as committed to giving back to the community as he is to his craft.

That means that gorgeous model and actor Taj Pabla will be working hard this holiday season not only on the screen and on the runway but in the homeless shelters as well. This year Taj Pabla will be celebrating the true spirit of Thanksgiving by helping to serve dinner to the homeless. He will also be celebrating the spirit of the giving by donating toys to children in need. Taj knows that there is nothing as special as a child’s face on Christmas morning, and he is proud to play a small part in putting those smiles on the faces of children who might otherwise not get a gift this holiday season.

Taj Pabla puts it all in perspective by recounting how blessed he has been. As Taj says “I look around and I have everything. So why should I be selfish? So this year instead of getting I am going to give to the needy. I am serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless and working on putting smiles on kids’ faces at Christmas by donating toys.”

Taj Pabla updated his Facebook status on November 22 to share his holiday plans with his fans and urge others to follow in his footsteps. As Taj said in his status update – “This holiday season I’m going to help the people in need. So this Thanksgiving I’ll be serving the homeless. I am thankful for everything I have. I know sometime I could be selfish, but this year I’m going to do things from the heart and help the less fortunate.”

So just what will Taj Pabla be getting in return for his charitable endeavors this holiday season? Taj will be getting something much more valuable than mere baubles and presents he will be getting the joy that only comes from helping others. He will enjoy the warmth and satisfaction of knowing he has helped put smiles on the faces of children and a full meal in the stomachs of those who might otherwise go hungry this holiday season.

In fact, Taj Pabla is getting so much satisfaction from helping others that he is not about to stop. He has much more to give – and he can’t wait to give back to the community and help those who have blessed his life. Taj is looking forward to launching a new non-profit devoted to helping kids in poor countries get the education they need to enjoy a better and more fulfilling life.

The capital catches fire with Hunger Party Games

As London prepares to host the world premiere of the Hunger Games: Catching Fire, eager fans can get in on the action with The Robin Collective’s brilliantly bonkers Hunger Party Games. LondonTown.com talks exclusively to the events and experimental food company’s founder Robin Fegan to find out what the nefarious Game Makers have in store.

Please can you tell us a bit more about the Hunger Party Games.

Robin Fegan: In celebration of the release of the second Hunger Games film, The Robin Collective and Indeedy Incorporated are holding a unique party at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club on 15 November. [The singer, presenter, DJ and] our own queen of the Capitol Jess Indeedy will reap contestants to fight in this year’s Hunger Party Games.

Will the contestants be shot at with arrows and forced to forage for their own food?

RF: Not exactly. Every ticket holder’s name will be put into the reaping. Throughout the night, people will be selected to compete in murderous parlour games, and cannon blasts will salute the fallen.

In between games, the victors will be celebrated and there will be dancing. Because this is a Quarter Quell, the last game of the night will see all the victors compete one last time.

Yikes, can you give us a hint as to what the murderous party games might involve?

The Game Makers are currently busy coming up with the most devious and evil games imaginable like Musical Killing Chairs and Pass the Parcel… of death!

How should contestants dress?

They are encouraged to wear outfits representative of their district. For example, glasses without lenses for the Shoreditch district, or obnoxious red trousers for the Chelsea districts. The reaping will be random so we won’t favour any districts.

What made you decide to hold a Hunger Games-themed event?

We’re big fans of the books and Katniss’ struggle against the Capitol is very much a metaphor for our struggle against non-Hunger Games-themed events.

How would you sum up the event in 10 words?

RF: ‘May the odds be ever in your favour,’ Caesar Flickerman.

The Hunger Party Games will be held at the Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club on 15 November from 9pm to 2am. Tickets are available from www.therobincollective.co.uk.
Competition: Win a set of tickets and the complete book trilogy

We are giving away two sets of tickets to the Hunger Party Games along with copies of the complete book trilogy. To enter, visit www.therobincollective.co.uk and then email us to let us know how many partying tracker jackers there are on the website.

The competition runs from 22nd October to 5th November 2013. Email your answer to competitions@londontown.com, along with your name and contact details. To be eligible to enter, you must be aged 18 years or over. Winners will be selected at random.

Tinker the Web Series Enters it’s Final Two Weeks of Crowdfunding

Tinker the Web Series continues it’s crowdfunding campaign.

After weeks of releasing a flurry of behind the scenes photos & video, conceptual artwork, commentary, and press interviews about it’s pre-production web series, Tinker wants to ask you “What if the Future Came Early?”, and would you want to see it made? Utilizing Kickstarter, social media, and featuring an Oscar winning Visual FX crew, Tinker is hoping you say “Yes”.

About Tinker the Web Series
Prepare for a high-flying steampunk adventure in this all-new sci-fi/fantasy series about a pair of talented inventors called, the Tinkers. Set in an alternate history in the late 19th century, Tinker takes place in a smoggy, overpopulated San Francisco where the Tinkers ply their trade to the wealthy and famous. When a wealthy and eccentric noblewoman from British Hong Kong named, Lady Cushing, hires the father/daughter duo, they are instantly thrust into a world of intrigue, lies, danger and excitement in which the balance of worldly power rests unaware, alternately in both the calloused hands of Sho Tinker and the gloved hands of Lady Cushing.

Featuring stylish steampunk wardrobe, props, sets, digital environments not limited to reality, and an original score & soundtrack of steampunk inspired music, Tinker aims to expand the boundaries of Steampunk science fiction by further transforming it from what many know as just an aesthetic, to evolving it into a multi-ethnic, culture- exploring, collection of stories that does for Steampunk what Star Trek did for science fiction back in the sixties. This includes: mature themes, exotic locations, sub-plots, drama and action, always making the effort to keep true to the ‘punk’ in Steampunk by going outside currently established ‘rules’ of the genre, and fusing the diverse talents of several industries into a new kind of steam-powered animal. Even if you don’t actively follow the subculture of Steampunk, there is still something here for you.

Currently maintained by two women who use outdated appliances in a makeshift kitchen to cook one meal a day for 50 children, the new built kitchen and dining room will be enhanced with all new appliances, pots, pans, plates & dishes and utensils, and food to offer these children with the one meal a day (known as “Break Tea” tea and bread, short cake or an egg) they so desperately need.

“The Shooting Star Salesman” WINS 34th ANNUAL SILVER TELLY AWARDS

The Telly Awards has named short film, “The Shooting Star Salesman”, as winner of the 34th Annual Silver Telly Awards. With nearly 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries, this is truly an honor.

The Shooting Star Salesman, directed by Emmy Award winning Producer Kico Velarde and inspired by the music of recording artist and Producer Joel Ceballos, tells the story of an ageless salesman with the magical ability to align individuals with their own unique shooting star to wish upon. His rare gift becomes a curse when he outlives his family, turning him into a recluse and breaking the magic of the shooting star machine. The film was shot entirely in Upland California and stars Yancey Arias (Chavez), Elijah Velarde (Casa de Mi Padre), Sydney Tamiia Poitier (Death Proof) and Jason Gedrick (Desperate Housewives).

For its 34th season, a prestigious judging panel of over 500 accomplished industry professionals, each a past winner of a Silver Telly and a member of The Silver Telly Council, judged the competition, upholding the historical standard of excellence that Telly represents. The Silver Council evaluated entries to recognize distinction in creative work – entries do not compete against each other – rather entries are judged against a high standard of merit. The Telly Awards once again joined forces with YouTube this year to give the public the power to view and rate videos submitted as part of the People’s Telly Awards.

“The Telly Awards has a mission to honor the very best in film and video,” said Linda Day, Executive Director of the Telly Awards. “From the cinematography, production design to the performances of the cast, Kico Velarde and his team demonstrate the creativity, skill, and dedication to their craft and serves as a testament to great independent film production and storytelling.”

“Being of part of this wonderful short film and having worked with some of the most promising and giving film makers the industry is about to meet was truly a great pleasure. Yuta Okamura & Tadamori Yagi Interview: Waking Up

Awarding winning short film Waking Up directed by Yuta Okamura is a about a man who works an a crematorium and recognizes one of the bodies as a professor he once knew which opens up a rediscovery of himself. The script was written by Kimberly Hwang and stars Tadamori Yagi

Director Yuta Okamura and Lead Actor Tadamori Yagi talk about their short film WAKING UP,” that will be screening at the Asians On Film Festival February 16, 2013 @ 9:00PM.

Scott: Where is this story come from?

Yuta: First of all, Kimberly wrote the script, and my producer Vanessa and I chose it because we thought it has very strong universal message. Film is about regret of this artist, and I found sympathy with the character. After graduation, I often talked about our friends like “What we do? Are you gonna still do filmmaking?”. Some of my friends went back home. There are unclear fear around us to face to our own life after the graduation. I think everyone passes this kind of time, and even this discussion focuses on graduated student, but it’s very universal because I believe everyone wonder their own future. That’s why I thought it could be an universal film with my personal experiences.

Scott: How did you meet this man (pointing to Tad, the lead actor)?

Yuta: I met him at audition. We called a lot of actors for this role, Jake, and met great actors. But you know, if you meet many actors, you start to feel everyone is same. I found most actors have great skill and talent, but couldn’t find unique speciality from them. But when Tad enters the room, he has something different- something unique. He can bring his personality into the character and make it real. Tad brought us so many things we had not be able to find from the script. That’s what we are finding- someone who can make the character three dimensional. So after the audition, we didn’t discuss anything about this role. We all knew Tad is the best choice.

Scott: What do you think about the ending of the film? What did you try to do with it?

Yuta: As you know, it is very simple story. It’s obvious that you cannot make this story into a feature film, but that’s the greatest thing about making short film. Audience can fill spaces after watching it. In the ending, Jake starts to change his life, but not dramatically. We don’t know what he will do after the moment. You can imagine a lot of different ways. Actually, it much better to blight each of them’s choice. My biggest work of this film was to express this strong feeling of courage and decision. If you could feel its transformation, this film works. Once you get the first step, the rest of steps follow you.

He regularly appears on comedy panel programmes such as Mock the Week and he’s also well known for his roles as Mr Gilbert, the psychotic head teacher in the Inbetweeners, and ‘the fat Rik Mayall’ in We Are Kiang.

His stand-up shows focus on hilarious and sometimes uncomfortably funny family stories that make audiences squirm just as much as they make them laugh. Davies is a genius in observation and a master at relaying his observations and performances are always filled with energy and mania.

Tickets for his Hammersmith Apollo show, part of his ‘The Back of My Mum’s Head’ tour, are priced at just £20 each.

LondonTown.com, the number one Internet site for London, advises Greg Davies fans to book overnight accommodation in the capital after the Hammersmith-based performance in order to completely relax and enjoy the show in its entirety. Screenwise Diploma of Screen Acting Graduates To Showcase At Sydney’s Carriageworks

Screenwise Film and Television Acting School is introducing its first Graduate Diploma students to the industry with live, and screen, presentations at Sydney’s historical Carriageworks this October.

Directors include Di Smith (Puberty Blues), Stephen Wallace (Blood Oath) and Aarne Neeme (Home and Away) and rehearsals are in full swing. “This is going to be an exceptional show of talent that will benchmark newcomers into the industry” says Principal Director and CEO Denise Roberts.

The Screenwise 2 Year Full-Time Diploma of Screen Acting is the first of its kind in Australia. The Government accredited course was established in 2011 after Denise Roberts, CEO of Screenwise and renowned Australian actress (Underbelly Razor, Packed To The Rafters, Cliffy, Mrs Biggs, Always Greener, GP) recognised the need for a Screen Acting specific full-time Diploma course.

The Diploma focuses on the particular skills and knowledge required for acting on screen, which includes post-production. It provides acting students with intense training and mentorship from some of Australia’s best actors, directors and casting consultants. All tutors are current industry working professionals.

On Graduation, the Diploma offers the students a major industry showcase comprising of a live stage performance and a screen performance presented to invited industry professionals including Casting Directors, Agents, Producers and Directors who are personally introduced to the graduates afterwards. The Graduates showreel, which is shot on location with a professional director, is presented to Agents and Casting Directors at the showcase.

With the decline of theatre work for actors in Australia and the increase of quality local film and television productions, acting for screen is a vital skill that all actors should develop. The Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) statistics show that 85% of an actor’s career-long income will be derived from television, which is why Screenwise chose to dedicate their services to providing actors with the specialised skills to not only meet the demands of today’s Film and Television industry but also the opportunity to succeed as a reputable actor both nationally and internationally.

Applications for the 2013 intake for the Diploma opened on the 31st of August 2012 and close on November 15th 2012. Call back auditions will take place early December 2012. Late applications will be accepted subject to availability and a $20 administration fee.
